Creative Fatigue Is a Data Problem, Not a Creative One
“We need fresh creative” is usually the wrong diagnosis. The real issue is almost always that nobody's watching the signal that tells you fatigue is coming — three weeks before it shows up in CPA.

By the time CPA visibly climbs, creative fatigue has usually been building for two to three weeks. Teams respond by briefing a new campaign from scratch — new concept, new shoot, new everything — when the actual fix was smaller, faster, and sitting in the data the whole time.
The signal everyone ignores
Frequency and CTR decay tell you fatigue is coming well before spend efficiency drops. A creative that held a 2.1% CTR for three weeks and is now trending toward 1.4%, on an audience whose frequency just crossed 4, is fatiguing — regardless of what CPA says today.
Volume beats a single big swing
A library of 15-20 variants on a working concept — different hooks, different first three seconds, different formats — consistently outlasts one polished hero video. The concept isn't tired; the specific execution is. Reshooting the concept from zero throws away the part that was working.
- Track CTR and frequency trend lines weekly, not just CPA
- Brief variants in batches of the working concept before launch, not after fatigue hits
- Separate “new concept” work from “new variant” work — they're different problems on different timelines
The fastest fix for fatigue is usually a new hook on the same idea, not a new idea.
